About ChongQing Xiao Mian

Located at 34420 Fremont Blvd, Fremont, CA 94555, ChongQing Xiao Mian operates as a chinese restaurant serving Fremont in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as sichuan restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Chinese restaurants in the United States range from steam-table lunch counters to white-tablecloth Cantonese seafood halls, and most fall somewhere in between: a laminated menu, a lunch special board, and combo plates priced a few dollars below the dinner menu. Ordering by number off the menu is normal and speeds things up, especially at takeout counters. Family-style ordering, where a table shares several dishes with rice rather than each person getting an individual entree, is standard at sit-down spots and usually cheaper per person. Many neighborhood restaurants are cash-preferred or charge a small card fee, so it is worth asking or checking the door before you order. Delivery apps cover most areas, but calling the restaurant directly is often faster and avoids the markup.

Hours are published for 6 days a week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–2:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Monday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach ChongQing Xiao Mian at (510) 790-9888; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, chongqingxiaomianca.com.

Worst Sichuan restaurant I’ve ever been to. The service was extremely poor. After bringing the food to our table, the staff basically disappeared. It was almost impossible to find a waiter whenever we needed something or had a question. There was no follow-up service at all. The food was even more disappointing. We ordered the mala roast fish, but it took over 40 minutes to arrive, and no one informed us about the delay or apologized. When it finally came, the fish clearly hadn’t been properly marinated. It was bland, the seasoning hadn’t penetrated the fish, and it lacked the rich, spicy flavor you’d expect from authentic Sichuan cuisine. It was honestly one of the worst roast fish dishes I’ve had. Terrible service, disappointing food. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

This was one of the most frustrating dining experiences I’ve had. We waited a long time outside with no seating available. After finally being seated, only our drinks were served—no utensils, water, or napkins. We waited over 40 minutes before our first dish arrived, and it was very difficult to get any server’s attention despite trying multiple times. One of our dishes (fried rice) never came. We eventually asked to cancel it and switch to plain rice instead. When I asked for a spoon, the server questioned where I was from and commented that “only Korean people use spoons.” This was unnecessary and inappropriate. At that point, it wasn’t just poor service—it felt disrespectful. Customers shouldn’t be judged for how they eat, especially after such a long and frustrating wait. Overall, the service was disorganized, inattentive, and unprofessional. I would not return.

Great Sichuan food and great atmosphere. I got five dishes and I recommend all of them: - Tender Beef in Spicy Sauce - Kung Pao Chicken - Pork Fried Rice - Dandan Noodles - Dry Cooked String Beans If you’re not a fan of spicy, feel free to omit the Tender Beef in Spicy Sauce, but you are truly missing out. Service was also great! Very attentive and kind :)

Came here looking for some good Sichuan food. We got the Dan Dan noodles, Kung Pao Chicken, Braised Beef, Pork Fried Rice, and String Beans. All of them were fantastic. Order one dish less than you think you need.

We had our family dinner here last night. The food was just AWESOME! It gave me a big surprise with the taste of the food! I would say it’s the best Szechuan food in the Bay Area! We talked to the owner and she is originally from Szechuan and the whole staff are from that area. That is why they have the most authentic Szechuan cuisine.
